Research on User-Side Electrochemical Energy Storage Operation Mode and Its Improvement on New Energy Consumption Capacity

2021
In recent years, electrochemical energy storage technology has developed rapidly, and its application in power system has become increasingly widespread. In the meantime, with the gradual improvement of the electricity market, the user-side electrochemical energy storage scale also shows a rising trend year by year. This paper first studied the operation mode of electrochemical energy storage on the user side, quantitatively analyzed the profitability and payback period of the arbitrage model of peak and valley power price, and concluded that the peak-valley price arbitrage model has better profitability in areas with large power price differences. Meanwhile, this paper also explored the influence of user-side electrochemical energy storage on the new energy consumption level. Through establishing a year-round hourly production simulation model and an electrochemical energy storage model, we calculated and analyzed the actual conditions of power grid, and studied the new energy consumption status in different scales of user-side energy storage. Through calculations, we found that the configuration of energy storage on the user side could improve the level of new energy consumption to a certain extent, but the improvement effect is limited, and we also found that if the scale of energy storage is increased, then under the current peak-valley price policy, the curtailment rate of new energy may increase, for which we analyzed the relevant reasons, and put forward corresponding suggestions.
