Acute Toxicity of M-cresol to Juvenile Cyprinus carpio

The acute toxicity of m-cresol to juvenile C.carpio was determined to provide a reference for preventing toxicosis of juvenile C.carpio in cultivation stage.The results showed that the fatality rate of juvenile C.carpio exposed in m-cresol solution increased by concentration and time.And showed obvious time-dose effect.LC50(24 h),LC50(48 h) and LC50(72 h) of m-cresol were 32.33 mg/L(95% confidence interval were 28.81-36.27 mg/L),22.91 mg/L(95% confidence interval were 20.93-25.07 mg/L) and 22.32 mg/L(95% confidence interval were 19.91-25.18 mg/L),respectively.the safe concentration was 2.23 mg/L.M-cresol belonged to moderate toxic substances.
