A questionnaire was applied to 311 married persons selected by availability. The questionnaire included a mixed format of questions covering issues related to the causes of stress, the effect of marital stress, and coping strategies among others. The economic situation was identified to be among the main causes of stress in marriage, where it is coped with in various ways at the individual level. It is recognized that it is vital to communicate this experience in the couple to maintain the welfare of the relationship. Also, stress is an element that can impair the quality of marriage and consequently lead to its dissolution.
