Borough of Freehold Public Schools

Freehold: Mrs. Ronnie Dougherty, Principal of Freehold Intermediate School, nominated Mrs. Paula Desch and Mrs. Ann Marie Fasano for recognition as exemplary secondary educators in a lengthy application process that began last year. Both long time Freehold Borough teachers, Mrs. Desch teaches English Language Arts and Mrs. Fasano Mathematics. Applications are scored with a rubric by a panel of members representing state education associations. According to the New Jersey Department of Education, “Exemplary Educators exhibit strong knowledge and skills, an inspiring presence; and a positive impact on students, colleagues and the school community.” In a letter received from the New Jersey Department of Education on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 Mrs. Dougherty was informed that Mrs. Desch and Mrs. Fasano have been selected as 2015 New Jersey Exemplary Secondary Educators.
