Investigation of the swelling of acrylic latices in methyl methacrylate by static centrifugation
1993
The equilibrium swelling in methyl methacrylate of poly(methyl methacrylate) and poly(butyl acrylate) latices obtained in the presence of allyl methacrylate was studied by static centrifugation. Reducing particle sizes and introducing a cross-linking agent resulted in lower swelling. The polymer-monomer interaction parameters, interfacial tension, and molecular masses of strands between the cross-links of a polymer network were determined
