Estado actual del conocimiento del orden opiliones en Guatemala y primer registro de Paecilaema toledense Goodnight & Goodnight, 1977 para el país

Se determino que hay 59 especies, de 26 generos y 6 familias (Cosmetidae, Gonyleptidae, Samoidae, Stygnopsidae, Zalmoxidae, Sclerosomatidae). Una de estas especies (Paecilaema toledense) no se conocia del pais previamente. De 179 paises, se considera que Guatemala es el numero 36 en riqueza de opiliones, pero tambien hay una subestimacion considerable para este grupo, el cual es poco conocido en el pais. Con el listado y la informacion adicional incluida en esta nota se pretende integrar el conocimiento existente sobre los opiliones del pais, con la finalidad de establecer una base que facilite y promueva su estudio. EnglishAll the available information of the Order Opiliones in Guatemala up to 2020 (notes, articles, websites and personal communication with experts) has been compiled. It was determined that there are 59 species belonging to 26 genera and 6 families (Cosmetidae, Gonyleptidae, Samoidae, Stygnopsidae, Zalmoxidae, Sclerosomatidae). One of these species (Paecilaema toledense) has not been previously reported from the country. Out of 179 countries, Guatemala is considered to be the 36th richest country in Opiliones, but there is also a considerable underreporting of this little-known group. The list and additional information included in this note are intended to consolidate the existing knowledge on the country’s harvestmen, in order to establish a basis to facilitate and promote further study.
