A General Design Methodology for Active Systems to Control Sound Radiation into Enclosed Spaces

1990
An overview of a general methodology for the design of systems to actively control sound transmission into a coupled structural/acoustic enclosure has been presented. Central to the methodology is an understanding of the physical mechanisms at work in an active noise control system. Knowing the modal characteristics of a given structural/acoustic system, the outlined methodology will allow the design of an efficient (physical) control system.
