A novel room temperature ethanol gas sensor based on 3D hierarchical flower-like TiO2 microstructures

Abstract A novel room temperature gas sensor based on 3D hierarchical flower-like TiO2 microstructures was fabricated and applied to detect ethanol vapor at room temperature. This flower-like TiO2 microstructures composed of thin nanosheets were synthesized using a hydrothermal process and following calcination method. The sensor exhibited good sensing properties such as high selectivity, good stability, quick response/recovery characteristics and good reproducibility to ethanol vapor at room temperature, showing great potential for ethanol detection, which is desirable and promising for applications in variety of fields.
