Etude des transformations phonologiques chez trois aphasiques hispanophones : conséquences pour les modèles de production de mots

1998
Phonological paraphasias in a single word production task are analysed for three Spanish-speaking aphasics. Errors are studied according to KOHN & SMITH (1994) analysis in order to identify which is the level impaired (lexical-phonological or phonemic). Two of our subjects (AA and AM) produce errors compatible with impaired phonemic representations; RR's errors seem characteristic of an impairment at both levels. Serial and interactive models of word production are discussed in the context of our results: first, KOHN & SMITH's model cannot be satisfactorily applied to our Spanish-speaking aphasics and secondly, we try to explain the observed effect of syllable frequency and syllable structure.
