Low-Latency Optical Networks for 5G Wireless

We review recent advances in the evolution of optical networks to better address the demands of 5G wireless systems by providing high-bandwidth and low-latency connectivity. Particularly, the evolution of optical cross connect and optical transport network will be discussed.
