Synthesis and Tribological Properties of Zinc Oxythiomolybdate

With the chemical synthesis of zinc oxythiomolybdate (ZnMoO2S2), its characters were studied by thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction method. The tribological properties of ZnMoO2S2 were studied by high-temperature pin on disc tester, the results show that ZnMoO2S2 has good lubricating property from room temperature to 700 degrees C, especially from 100 degrees C to 300 degrees C, the friction coefficient is about 0.1.
