Calculation Methods of Parameters of Shear Strength by Triaxial Compression Test

According to Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion,Linear regression formulae to calculate rock’s shear strength parameters( cohesion and internal friction angle) based on triaxial compression test were derived. In this paper,it was pointed out that there are different expression forms of linear regression formulae of rock ’s shear strength parameters,but there is no essential difference between them. On this basis,a method based on particle swarm algorithm to determine parameters of shear strength by triaxial compression test is presented. The application demonstrates that the method is feasible. Particle swarm algorithm has good prospect of application in study of nonlinear shear strength.
