Similarly, the numbers of general nephrology out-patients who can be reviewed at a satellite location are limited, necessitating travel to the hub unit for review. Nursing staff may feel professionally isolated and have limited access to training. Finally, the current financial climate demands more efficient ways of working to allow existing resources to meet an increasing chronic care demand.
