Spectral Spacing Estimation in Gridless Nyquist-WDM Systems using Local Binary Patterns

A method based on a computer vision technique called Local Binary Pattern is proposed to estimate spectral spacing in gridless WDM systems. Accuracy up to 96% is obtained when determining if an optical channel is spectrally overlapped in an experimental $3\times 32$ -Gbd 16-QAM Nyquist-WDM system.
