Behind the over the past few decades researchers have gathered a wealth of information that informs about the importance of breastfeeding to the overall health and human rights of women and children (UNHROHC, 2016). The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified breastfeeding as 'an unequalled way of providing ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants; it is also an integral part of the reproductive process with important implications for the health of mothers' (WHO, 2018).
