Geo-environmental assessment method for metal deposits (mines).

2005
In order to evaluate the environmental impacts of metal deposits, plenty of geological information is transformed and classified into four geo-environmental factors.Based on the types of data, different approaches are used to assess the data:for the data (16 geo-environmental indices) without spatial attributes, the five-point grading scale is used to assess the influence on the environment;for the data with spatial attributes, including the elemental distribution in soils and stream sediments,GIS is used for the spatial analysis the data after establishing the assessment model and using the empirical and calculation methods to weight their impacts. Finally, integrated assessment results are obtained for the environmental quality of mineral deposits (mines).
