Traffic Noise Impact Assessment Based on GIS Tools

By inputting newly developed traffic noise prediction model to TNPPS (Traffic Noise Prediction and Planning System), and combining GIS Tools, NII (Noise Impact Index) has been predicted for every network community and the whole city area, and noise impact has been assessed on the urban inhabitants. NII of the whole Haikou city is 0.180, ranking class III, "qualified", but these traffic noise impact indexes rank class IV, "poor" in ZhongShan and DaTong communities.
