Plateaus in dispersion of magnetoplasmon in GaAs 2DES and quantum hall effect

The plateaus in the dispersion of magnetoplasmon in high mobility two-dimensional electron systems in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells discovered by Holland et al. can be explained on the basis of the dispersion formula by adopting the electron reservoir model. We review the electron reservoir model and also illustrate the derivation of the magnetoplasmon dispersion.
