Student and Graduate Voices

2021
To address this inadequacy of longevity, reflective and contextual data, this research project invited 20 postgraduate students and graduates near and after the completion of their MLArch or MPlan course four qualitative judgment questions. Participant selection was random by availability and willingness, so optional-in participant involvement. The survey occurred over January–March 2019, of which all participants were in various stages of their studies or completion and all had successfully completed this unit upon their first attempt. Some 13 detailed responses were forthcoming and their authors are from a breadth of cultural backgrounds (Australian, Sri Lankan, Indian, Japanese, Chinese) and one Aboriginal from Eora and Awabakal Country descent, with a majority being female, all of which statistically reflects the domestic/international cultural profile of this course. There is also one online participant in the respondents. Two students had completed their MLArch and MPlan studies and had selected postgraduate research studies, and you can discern the role the unit may have had on their postgraduate research topic selection in their clear statements.
