Design of new NAND/NOR gates in QCA using single electron cells

2016
Quantum dot cellular automata (QCA) is a practicable technology to compute at nanoscale and a potential alternative for semiconductor technology-based computers. The principle element in QCA is majority gate. In this paper, a novel three-input NAND/NOR gate is proposed. Some single electron cells are introduced to help result the output. In order to verify functionality of the proposed two-dimensional gate, some physical proofs using Kink energy are provided. It can be seen that the proposed gate is better in performance in comparison to the former gates due to the reduction of the number of clocks and the used cells.
