Development of High Tech and Increased Efficiency Retrofit Options for the GE MS3002 Gas Turbine

This paper deals with a new complete uprate for the after-market of the General Electric MS3002H/J/AT two-shaft gas turbine. The new version, called MS3002KHE, is being developed to increase cycle efficiency by a minimum of 8% over the existing JAT units.After a brief introduction, marketing evaluations behind the selected target chosen are pointed out.A description of the GT components which were focused to be uprated follows, with an explanation of all implemented development activities.Copyright © 2000 by ASME
