Quantum System Fidelity Estimation

Abstract A methodology is described for estimating fidelity of a quantum system using minimal resources by making use of prior information on the character and range of uncertainties inherent in the quantum system being tested. The focus is on uncertain but bounded parameters such as coupling terms in a Hamiltonian. A compressed sensing convex optimization is formulated which yileds a trade-off between estimation accuracy and experimental resources.
