AS TEMPORALIDADES NA NARRATIVA: um encontro entre a História e o Jornalismo

2018
At the confluence between the fields of History and Journalism, the purpose of this article is to study temporality in the History of the Present. The research investigates how the categories of the "strata of time" - singularity, repetition and transcendence (Koselleck, 2014) - are manifested in the journalistic narrative in print and on the web. The corpus encompasses reports published by Veja magazine regarding the processes of presidential impeachment of Fernando Collor, in 1992 and Dilma Roussef, in 2016. The results of the analysis reveal that the categories repetition and transcendence stand out in the printed narrative and the singularity category prevails in the web narrative. Among other inferences, this means that journalistic narratives on the web reinforce the perspective of temporal ‘presentification’, in which the present stands out as unfinished time.
