THE RESISTANCES TO CHANGE OF THE TEACHERS WHO WORK AT THE PRIMARY EDUCATION SCHOOLS

The general aim of this study is to indicate the primary education teachers' attitudes towards their reasons for resistance to change; their opinions about seeing themselves open to change; whether or not these attitudes and opinions differentiate greatly in meaning according to some of their personal variables. General Scanning Model was used in the study. In the study, a form consisting of six questions was used to determine the teachers' personal characteristics; and qErgin Change Scaleq was used to determine their reasons for resistance to change. It has been seen that the majority of the persons have regarded themselves as open to change. The highest ones of the persons' reasons of resistance to change are qrationalizationq, qanxiety of struggleq and qresistance to general changeq. The lowest ones have been seen to be the dimensions qwait and seeq and qpreserving the old". The persons' resistances to change have differentiated according to their personal variables and to their opinions on what degree they regard themselves as open to change.
