Heteroaromatic polymers based on polystyrene containing organometal redox-ligands

Abstract PS-based polymers have been synthesized containing heteroatomatic cationic groupings including organometal fragments. Cyclic voltammetry and ESR spectroscopy have shown that the reduction of these compounds leads to the formation of polycation-radicals in which there is exchange interaction between the unpaired electrons. The electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of the compounds obtained are compared with their monomeric analogues.
