Digital Control Based Design of Buck Converter for Travelling-Wave Tube Amplifier

With the development of Travelling-Wave Tube Amplifier towards high stability and efficiency, Electronic Power Conditioner needs to provide a more stable output voltage, but the traditional analog control method is difficult to meet the demand. In this paper, a digital control Buck converter based on FPGA with voltage-mode control is designed, which mainly includes the design of power parameters, the design of ADC and DPWM generators and the design of PID compensator. Through the actual test, the output voltage is stable and the transient response is adjusted quickly when the input voltage or load changes. The overall performance of the system meets the design requirements of the Travelling-Wave Tube Amplifier.
