Iryzyna — adipomiokina związana z gospodarką węglowodanową organizmu. Część I

2019
Adipose tissue carries out many functions in the human body. This organ secretes adipokines — biological activity peptides. They play an important role, for example, in the pathogenesis of metabolic or carbohydrate disorders. Irisin is a newly discovered adipomyokine that is produced by both muscle mass and white adipose tissue. It is claimed to be connected with insulin resistance. Many studies show that irisin concentration correlates with carbohydrate metabolism disorders. Also, it may have positive effects on carbohydrate metabolism balance and improve insulin sensitive.
