Neural dynamics of trust in human-robot interaction

2021
Abstract Understanding neural correlates and mechanisms of human trust in the context of human-robot interaction (HRI) would help designers create better, more efficient robots to be used in interactions with humans. This chapter aims at providing up-to-date coverage for researchers, students, and practitioners to be able to grapple with a synopsis of key findings regarding the neural dynamics of trust in HRI. Particularly, this chapter summarizes key neural correlates of trust in HRI in the areas of anthropomorphism, emotional gestures and conversation, and decision and feedback processing.
