Electrification of Rural Primary Schools by Photovoltaics in Tunisia

1991
Since the average costs of connecting the rural consumers to the national grid has increased, the Tunisian Government judged useful to study the possibilities to introduce the renewable sources of energy as a complementary solution in order to execute rural electrification programms, especially the photovoltaic energy which has several social and technical advantages. Moreover, solar photovoltaic systems can be economically provided to scattered individual users in remote rural areas, particularly when the needs of electric energy are low.
