Administrative Profile of Bishop Leon Augustine Tharmaraj

The Catholic Church all over the world is established in a hierarchical order with Pope at the hem of affairs. Below the Pope there are Cardinals, Patriarchs, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, Monks, Nuns and the Laity. The hierarchy is the orderly deposition of ranks and orders of the clergy to provide spiritual care for all the faithful and for the government of the church. Persons belong to this hierarchy by virtue of ordination and canonical mission. Bishop is a prelate who by virtue of ordination belongs to the hierarchy of order that possesses the fullness of priesthood and who by virtue of appointment by the Supreme Pontiff exercise by divine right the full power of jurisdiction over his diocese. Bishop Leon Augustine Tharmaraj was appointed as the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Kottar.
