Exploration of Interlanguage Fossilization from the Perspective of Psycholinguistics

This article first reviews the definition,clarification and causes of fossilization.It then reports the exploration of an advanced EFL learner's interlanguage development with a focus on the subject's temporary fossilized errors in pronunciation and grammar from the perspective of psycholinguistics.It concludes that lacking integrated motivation and failing in self-monitoring are significantly related to EFL learners' temporary fossilization.
