Fundamental Electronic FHR Monitoring

2021
Electronic FHR monitoring is already widely used for antenatal fetal monitoring and labor observation. It is believed to be able to reduce the risk of intrauterine fetal hypoxia and decrease the probability of neonatal hypoxia and the neonatal mortality rate. In 2002, 85% of 3.4 million pregnant women in the United States received electronic FHR monitoring during labor. At present, continuous electronic FHR monitoring has become the most widely used obstetric monitoring technology.
