Tar removal from phosphate solutions at a quartz filter

The removal of tar and suspended particulates from phosphate solutions at a quartz filter is considered. The filter’s optimal operating conditions are determined. Introduction of this filter reduces the downtime in the circulating phosphate system for the removal of tar deposits.
