Passive wireless strain and temperature sensors based on SAW devices

2004
This work gives an overview of existing approaches to wireless strain and temperature measurements that employ passive sensors based on two types of SAW devices; reflective delay lines and one-port resonators. The performance of these two types of sensors is compared from the point of view of the achieved sensitivity, resolution, read range, interrogation time and power. A quantitative comparison of the wireless interrogation methods is presented.
