An extremity for electric cable

The present invention relates to an end device (1) for electrical cable (10), said cable (10) comprising: • a central elongate electrically conductive member (11); • an electrically insulating layer (12) surrounding said center conductor element (11); and • an outer semiconductor layer (13) surrounding the electrically insulating layer (12); the cable (10) comprising an end portion (10a) lacking at least the outer semiconductor layer (13), the end device (1) being intended to be arranged around the end portion (10a ) of the cable (10), characterized in that the end device (1) comprises a polymeric body (2) intended to surround the end portion (10a) of the cable (10), and a semiconductor element ( 3) at least partially surrounding said polymeric body (2), and in that, when the end device (1) surrounds the end portion (1 0a) of the cable (10), the semiconductor element ( 3) is positioned to be in direct physical contact with the outer semiconductive layer (13) of said cable (10).
