Single-Micron Scale Two-Layer Micro AU Chiral Structure with Circulary Polarized Light Absorption in FIR Region

In this study, we propose a chiral structure combining two layers of Au planar structures, and confirmed that light absorption presumably attributed to circularly polarized light absorption occurred in far infrared region. The effect of circularly polarized light absorption was analyzed using the linearly polarized light absorption behavior. In microscope FTIR measurement, reflectance of an area with the chiral structure was significantly reduced compared to an area without the structure. By improving the fabrication preciseness of the two-layered chiral metamaterial, thin film anti-reflection optical isolator will be provided with this technology.
