Prompt and delayed γγ coincidences in the 191Ir(n,γ) 192Ir reaction

1991
A γγ‐delayed and prompt coincidence experiment on transitions following thermal‐neutron capture by 191Ir was performed using a semiconductor and scintillation detectors. The isomeric character of four transitions was established. The half‐life was deduced for the following excited states of 192Ir: 66.8 keV 14.6(44) ns; 84.3 keV, 1.9(4) ns; 104.7 keV, 17(3) ns; 193.5 keV, 2.7(6) ns. The 118.8 keV level has the half‐life T1/2≳15 ns. Using these results and data on prompt coincidences a fragment of 192Ir level scheme is proposed.
