A Wideband Dual-polarized Microstrip Antenna Based on Defect Ground Structure

2020
A wideband dual-polarized microstrip antenna with defect ground structure (DGS) is presented in this paper. The antenna is proximity-coupled feeding with four layers, and it is composed of a radiator, a metal shell, and a pair of perpendicular microstrip feeder. Simulated results show that the antenna with coupling feed structure has an impedance bandwidth about 14%. In order to further broaden the bandwidth, DGS is etched in the ground of antenna. Finally, the proposed antenna achieves a -10 dB |S 11 | with bandwidth of 2.1-2.6GHz, and its port isolation is higher than -30 dB over the same band.
