STUDY ON SYNERGISTIC EFFECTS OF MULTI-COMPONENT CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL

2004
Multi-component cementitious materials can be prepared by incorporating fine blend materials with different size distribution and activity into cement. The water requirement of normal consistency of paste and ESEM (environmental scanning electron microscope) were used to study the dense-packing effect of the multi-component cementitious powder systems, and the test method of water requirement of normal consistency was proposed to determine the dense-packing effect of this system. The hydration process and synergistic effect of the multi-component cementitious were studied by the experiments of hydration heat and compressive strength. The compressive strength and adiabatic temperature of the mass concrete made of multi-component cementitious were tested. The results show that the hydration-exothermic process and the strength development could be regulated to meet the requirements of high performance concrete for hydraulic structures by varying the type, the content or the fineness of each component of the multi-component cementitious powder system.
