Study on space-time evolution & driving factors of industrial structure of Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration based on GIS

2015
By using the data of industrial structure and economic and social environment of 8 cities of Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration (SDPUA) from 2001 to 2012, ARCGIS spatial analyst extensions and matlab7.0 stepwise regression were applied to analyze the space-time evolution & driving factors of industrial structure of Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration. The results show that the primary industry growth rate and its proportion of SDPUA increases gradually and then decreases from east to west, and firstly decreases gradually and then increase from south to north. The secondary industry growth rate and its proportion increases gradually and then decreases from east to west, and decrease gradually from south to north. The tertiary industry growth rate of SDPUA increases gradually and then decreases from east to west and firstly decrease gradually and then increase from south to north. The driving factors of secondary industry are Per capita gross domestic product, population, the residents' consumption level, the financial institutions loan balance and the road network density. The driving factor of tertiary industry is the financial institutions loan balance. Both the secondary industry and tertiary industry have no correlation with the distance from the primate city and the economic center of the region.
