Supporting Organizations That Intend to “Do Good”: Qualitative and Quantitative Insights

Given the conference theme is “Improving Lives,” our symposium focuses on supporting organizations that intend to “do good”, either as part of their overall mission or through initiatives that serve to address historical wrongs. As a result, through the presentation of four unique papers, our symposium will focus on answering the following research questions: 1) How do organizations (or subgroups within organizations) ""do good"" and how is ""doing good"" enacted differently across various contexts? 2) What are the mechanisms that help or harm an organization's/subgroup's ability to ""do good"" and how are these mechanisms sustained or eroded over time?, and 3) What are outcomes of attempting to ""do good” and how does ""doing good"" in organizations inform how organizations/subgroups define themselves moving forward?
