Climate change and uncertainties about the scarcity of short- and medium-term energy supply are among the main concerns of today’s society due to the economic implications derived from this problem. In this context, the development of so-called biorefineries has acquired great interest in recent years by pursuing the conversion of renewable sources to obtain bioproducts that reduce our dependence on fossil resources and that guarantee the implementation of a sustainable economy.
