memory is a central cognitive process that, as such, can be implicated by absence or misfunctioning in a variety of psychological disorders. in the context of language disorders, it is important to have adequate tools to assess memory, in general, and verbal memory, in particular. in the present paper, two memory tasks adapted from the pAlpA battery (Kay, lesser & coltheart, 1992) to european portuguese, will be presented: the digit span and the pointing span for noun – verb sequences tasks.
