A simple ultra-wideband antenna with two frequency rejection bands

2014
This paper presents a simple ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with two frequency rejection bands. The two frequency rejection bands are obtained by using a pair of parallel coupling lines (PCL) and a loaded arc-shaped stub (ASS). The parallel coupling lines are inserted into the circular ring radiation patch, which is to produce the lower notch band at 3.5 GHz WiMAX band, while the loaded arc-shaped stub is connected to the coplanar waveguide (CPW) ground plane which is designed to give a higher notch at 5.5GHz WLAN band. Simulated results demonstrated that the proposed antenna can not only cover the entire UWB communication band but also have dual frequency rejection bands, which is suitable for indoor UWB communication applications.
