Effects of SiO2 on the expression of transforming growth factor β1 in human bronchial epithelial cells in vitro.

2009
Objective To explore the effects of SiO2 on the expression of transforming growth factorβ1 (TGF-β1) in human bronchial epithelial(16HBE) cells in vitro and provide basic materials for new way of therapy for silicosis. Methods Human bronchial epithelial (16HBE) cells were selected as the target cells in Vitro and incubated in the DMEM medium containing SiO2 (30ug/ml and 60ug/ml,with 10% FBS) and DMEM medium without SiO2 for different time periods(8h、16h、 24h and 32h),three parallel samples were ready for each hole. Immunocytochemical method was used to detect the expression of TGF-β1 in 16HBE. Results The absorption values of 16HBE exposed to SiO2 (30μg/ml and 60μg/ml) for different time periods were significantly higher than that of the controls (P0.05). Conclusions The expression of TGF-β1 in 16HBE exposed to SiO2 in Vitro could be regulated upward.
