Coordinated Control of UPFC-Based Damping Controller with PID for Power System

This paper tells a scientific approach to control the designing of the UPFC for damping low-frequency oscillation in a power system. We choose the input control signal of UPFC and design an optimum UPFC damping controller in order to raise the damping of power system. The proposed UPFC supported damping controller with PID controller provides efficient damping when compared to the conventional controller. The simulations are performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
