The invention discloses a detection method and device. The method comprises the steps that three-phase electric quantity signals are received, wherein the three-phase electric quantity signals include three-phase voltage signals and three-phase current signals; a standard message signal and a detected message signal are acquired, wherein the standard message signal is a message signal outputted by a standard merging unit according to the received three-phase electric quantity signals, the detected message signal is the message signal outputted by equipment to be detected according to the received three-phase electric quantity signals, and the equipment to be detected is equipment in digitalized electric energy metering equipment; and the standard message signal and the detected message signal are compared so that a detection result is obtained. With application of the detection method, problems of low equipment detection efficiency in the digitalized electric energy metering equipment in the related technologies can be solved.
