TRANSPORT LAYER PROTOCOL FOR URGENT DATA TRANSMISSION IN WSN

2013
wireless sensor networks is a growing class of high ly dynamic, complex network environment on top of w hich a wide range of applications, such as habitat monitoring, object tr acking, precision agriculture, building monitoring and military systems are built. The real time applications often generate urgent da ta and one-time event notifications that need to be communicated reliably. The successful delivery of such information has a direc t effect on the overall performance of the system. Reliable communication is important for sensor networks. Urgent data transmis sion has been a serious problem for Wireless sensor networks. WSN face difficulties in handling urgent data like congestio n and reliability due to their unique requirements and constraints. Various protocols for congestion avoidance and reliability achievemen t for WSN have been proposed recently. Few of them have also worked on congestion elimination. These protocols try to mini mize the problem using different mechanism. This pa per explores these mechanisms and tries to find their features and limitations wh ich directed us for our research.
