Study on the Existing Status of Crossoptilon mantchuricum in Huanglong Mountain Forest Area of Shaanxi Province

Crossoptilon mantchuricum is an important species of Chinese endemic bird, and ranks in Ⅰgrade key protected wildlife in China, and in Vulnerable(VU) on the IUCN Red List. These birds live in Shanxi, Hebei and Shaanxi. Crossoptilon mantchuricum in Huanglong Mountain forest area of Shaanxi was found the latest, but quite a number of studies have been carried out on its ecology and biology. This paper reviews the main results of these studies from the aspects of habitat selection, foraging-site, resting habitat and origin of populations.
