High power fiber-based green laser with diffraction-limited output beam

2008
A high power, narrow-linewidth, polarized and diffraction-limited green laser is described. The green output is obtained by frequency converting a high power IR fiber laser from 1064 nm to 532 nm. The IR fiber laser is based on a 10 MHz 5 ns master oscillator and power amplified to produce 150 Watt output power with M2 100,000 hours, an order of magnitude longer than typical pump diodes used in current available DPSS-based green lasers. This fiber-based green laser will be an ideal source for various material processing, medical and scientific applications.A high power, narrow-linewidth, polarized and diffraction-limited green laser is described.
